Double Dragon II! Your girlfriend gets shot! Time to rip the face off some motherfuckers!
I was just thinking about how awesomely cheesy old game intros used to be. One of my favorite intros was for the arcade game Bad Dudes.
I remember walking past this machine in the arcade as a kid and seeing that and just thinking, 'no motherfucking god damned way am I gonna let a bunch of ninjas kidnap the president.' The intro undeniably hooked me and the game got my quarters. Mission accomplished.
Here's the ending. Ignore the douche talking.
Another awesome one I remember is the intro to Final Fight:
Couple things about this intro. 1.) The music is awesome. 2.) I remembered the daughter being pixel bursting hot back in the day - no suprise, she still is. Check out those knockers!
Another cool one I remember is the intro to NES Ninja Gaiden. This thing blew my fucking baby child mind to smithereens.
And the intro for Contra on SNES was sweet too.
Although Bill Rizer didn't have to tell me to attack aggresively. That was a given.
Anyway, I love old videogame intros and I know there are a ton more good ones that I can't remember. Please post any awesome ones you may remember. Some of these I haven't seen for years and they get me all nostalgic. And in the case of the Final Fight intro, wet and horny, 'cause the daughter is all hot and tied up. Tongue firmly planted in cheek.
Also, did you guys just skip these intros when you played the game? I always watched them. In a way, these are the precursors to the big, blown up long winded MGS4 style cut scenes we see today. I liked the cut scenes back then, and I like them even more now. But you can't beat the charm of those old school cutscenes/intros.
EDIT: I searched and couldn't find a similar thread so I apologize if this has been done before.

Not nearly as cheesy as the first one, but I loved me some Ninja Gaiden 2 intro.
This video (which is resisting embedding for some reason) has all the cutscenes from the game, totaling 26min. I know it was cutscene heavy in between levels but had no clue they were actually that long. Fear the NES storytelling.
I think my hatred of those started with NBA Jam on the Genesis. Every time you turn it on there's like five or six unskippable intro screens for random associated companies that no one playing the game gave a shit about.Originally Posted by Dyne

Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)
Lol @ Super chase. "Criminel Termination". Love it.
And holy shit I had no idea Ninja Gaiden II had 26 minutes of cutscenes. That's unbelievable. But then I was thinking, is there another NES game that has better cutscenes than the Ninja Gaiden series? I would say no.
Haha. I never thought of it like that but that's hilarious.
Intro to Double Dragon:
That's storytelling with a point right there. Cut's straight to the chase, no need for a super long explanation of what's going on. Also, there's no sound in that intro, save for the synthesized sounds of footsteps. Fuck yea man.
