Game Collecting 101 in Game Informer...

I'm aware that Game Informer isn't too popular around here but in this months issue that had a article on Game collecting nothing that collecter's don't already know but nice to see this aspect of the hobby was covered.

Also in the Classic Reviews section Gunstar Heroes and Blazing Lasers are feautured.

  2. I have nothing against Game Informer, it's free with a one year membership at Gamestop. I love the niche articles they have every month, but the reviews are another story.

I can't stand the term "collecting," games are for playing dammit all.

  4. What is a better term for people like us who appreciate older games? Geriatric Video Recreationists? ;)

I'm not fond of GI at all, but they actually covered something that I'd be interested in. As for us "collectors" or "Geriatric Video Recreationists", who's gonna play the thousands of copies of Combat? I think some games are better in the hands of collectors than sitting on the shelf of a video game store collecting dust and eventually being thrown away.

    P.S.: I'm a collectors

  6. I heard they have a nice collection of Tony Hawk's Pro Pubic Hair.

    I hope they have pics!

  7. Tips And Tricks has a monthly column about collecting. Much better than the Game Informer article.

  8. I get GI because of the discount card (love my 10%!) and read it, but I'm not too fond of it. I agree that "colelcting" isn't the right term. It sounds like I'm displaying my stuff in a museum. I prefer the term "game enthusiast".

  9. Since Gamefan and GameGO died, and the heir to Gameplayers, PSM, went down the crapper in terms of content, Game Informer's actually become one of my favorite mags. I enjoy reading it, especially the shout-outs they give to the classics every month. Plus you get that 10% discount card with your subscription, can't beat that
    omg TNL epics!

  10. They gave Discworld a bad score in their retro section, claimed that all XB's eastern support would cease to be after this year, and gave Britney's Dance Beat and Outlaw Golf better scores than Morrowind. GI can go fuck themselves.
