This anti-intellectualism has distilled over the recent years into words like the pejorative "elite." They constantly rail against the educated, and now you have two Republicans with mediocre academic credentials running against a democrat who graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law. This is an indefensible point. The Republican voter base does not value education the same way the democratic base does.
