It skews younger (ala Bug's Life, not my favorite personally), but there's a bit of Aardman-y quirkyness that I like about it.
Cars is wonderful.
YAH. Cowutopia and i agree and we never agree, so that means Bbobb and ShinJohnPeeVee are RONG.
Donk
Thought process at the end: Oh no, if he pins that Ellie badge on him I am going to lose my shit... GAAAHHH ;_;
Why is no one talking about how amazing that bird was? In his Fresh Air interview the director said he wanted to make him emote like a muppet.
True Story: Disney Digital 3D isn't about cheap gags, it's about depth of field.
After seeing up it still feels more like a gimmick to get people in the seats like 3D always is. Happened when television came out, happened with home video, and now it's happening again with netflix and piracy.
seeing up in 3D was neat, but I don't think it added anything essential to the film as a whole
There were times when I took my glasses off to rub my eyes and the screen was completely clear of 3D distortion.
I mean, there were no Coraline tunnels in Up.
I did not see Coraline, I've got my broad generalizations brush out.
*edit - Also, fifteen fucking dollars for the 3D version? Fuck!
That's like saying stereo/surround is just a gimmick compared to mono sound. We hear stereo, so how is stereo recording a gimmick? We see 3D, so how are 3D movies a gimmick?
Are color movies a gimmick?
Also, yeah that bird did rock. I love how they nailed the vacant expression birds always carry since you can't really emote with a beak. And yet they still got the character to emote.
Every other cartoon bird I've seen always has the beak bending into smiles and such. I like that they avoided that.
