This really should have been called the Kung Fu Kid. Also I don't know if Jackie Chan is old and somber enough for a Mr Miyagi role yet.

Cuz some marketing douche said "If we call it Karate Kid people will have fond memories and not be able to say no! You'll make billions!!!" and the boss said "Fuck yeah, Karate Kid it is!"

Actually, the argument is between Will Smith and Marketing.

Marketing wants it too be Kung-Fu Kid and Will Smith and the producers want it too be Karate Kid.

God, I hope so! Also, I like the nod to the original in the beginning with the Beverley Hills Apts.

I don't like the idea of remaking this movie AT ALL. But, at least they're executing it properly -- name change aside.
