Thread: Xbox Indie Games Thread

  1. I've been playing Platformance Castle Pain. Pretty addicting game and it's only $1.

  2. How come nobody told me Graviton 360 came out the other week!?

Basically, it's Gravitron 2 for $1 on the 360. I just bought it today and it's great, although I haven't gotten to the madness shown in the video yet.

  3. That looks cool. I like the tune, too.

Are there any decent and up to date lists of worthwhile Xbox 360 indie games? I can't keep up with this stuff. I went through about 20 demos in the last week and could see myself snagging 10-15 of those. I don't think I'm even aware of half of what's out there, though. Annoyingly, I thought I was downloading a trial when I was in fact purchasing some trivia game called "What The?!" I mean, I guess it could've been worse, and it was only 80 points, but still, I don't really want it. I guess that'll teach me to do this stuff at four in the morning.

The other one I got was Breath of Death VII. That one I actually did want. It took about five lines of text before I was sold. I haven't started in on the game for real yet, but it seems pretty rad.

I have enough for one more 80 pt. game. I was going to choose between Decimation X, The Impossible Game, or one of the Radiangames ones.. but maybe I will snag that Gravitron instead.

Some dude on GAF plays everything and has been making a monthly post spotlighting the previous month's standouts lately. Nice format and some quick impressions for everything.

  5. Cheers. GAF mysteriously denies all of my attempts to register, and each time I have to wait about six months to find out that they're still assholes. Otherwise I guess I might know these things. Appreciate it, I will check those out.

  6. Monsters (probably) stole my princess is pretty good.

  7. The Johnny platform games are good.

I also had a blast with Platformance. http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/ga...0-0000585505cd

It's only 1 stage but the re playability is there because it keeps track of how many times you die. And you will die a lot the first time. This game is based on the fucking pixel. NO margin for error.

  8. Things are happening you should know about.

Explosionade - Bangai-O ish, but a new kind of run'n'gun. Lob granades and twinstick shoot to get to the bottom of single-screen mazes. A bouncy shield mechanic needs to be learned to perform high jumps. This is by the guys who made Shoot 1up.

radiangames Inferno - JoyJoy * Gauntlet

Hypership Out of Control - Vert STG. It's like those high speed levels in Salamander or Gradius.

  9. Explosionade is really good. Disclaimer: I don't really care about score in run & guns, so I don't really notice or care if there's a scoring issue like I did with Shoot 1UP.

    Still need to try Hypership.

  10. Yay, Decimation X2! Boo, Windows Mobile 7 only. Yay, Decimation X3 will be on Indie Games again according to the second response on this article!

Just a bi-polar kind of day, I guess.
