Nah, I tried the XBLA version of Sensible Soccer and it's no fun.

FITBA's a lot better, and it's only 240 points compared to Sensible Soccer's 800 points.

Plus I can use the custom team feature to make my team a bunch of racists in purple/pink striped uniforms.

Just a quick reminder that the Xbox Live Indie Games Summer Uprising has officially begun. The final two games have been chosen by the community, making for a total of ten new games to be released over the coming two weeks. A new title will be released every weekday, starting today with side-scrolling slasher Raventhorne.

Each game in the promotion will cost $3, with the $1 exceptions of Battle High: San Bruno and Cute Things Dying Violently. You can see each game in action in the trailer above and find the complete release schedule after the break.

Everything but the train game seems at least worth a shot.

The nice thing about indie games is that the trial downloads go quick and you can tell whether or not the games are worth buying after like 30 seconds of playing.

Most of these look like they could turn out pretty decent. The strategy games aren't really my style, though.

It's like Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighter for the NES: painfully simple. I really liked that game as a younger lad!

All I'm saying is that you could do worse for a dollar, GruMpyPant-zo!

On one of the other sites I write for I do a weekly column covering most of the XBLIG releases, occasionally bringing up some subjects I deem important.
