True. But look at Slumdog. It also got limited release more than two months ago and now it's at #5 and $56,065,245.
Well it's made more than it cost to shoot, but with all the advertising and what not, they're probably not seeing any of that money yet.
I'm more thinking about it from Rourke's perspective. He did the film for SAG minimum, basically nothing, so he's counting on their being some residuals.

That's because they're advertising Slumdog. I've yet to see a clip for The Wrestler outside of WWE.
True. True. But when I saw Slumdog back the first week of December, I had no idea it even existed. I was like, Hey Danny Boyle found work!
They didn't start advertising for it until it got the golden globes. That and this needed to get more media attention early on.

That chris jericho shit was just, uh, uncomfortable. Actor jericho is not.

Just got back from seeing this for the first time. It's incredible to see Aronofsky do something this natural feeling. His last two were completely opposite movies - dramatic and visual candy. This movie is dramatic too, but in a more subtle way. Definitely one of the top 5 of 2008.
Sunday, I think I will stay in the movies all day and watch The Wrestler, Gran Torino, and Slumdog Millionaire again in that order.
Then I'll go home and watch The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Just saw this yesterday.
I don't think I can remember seeing a more depressing movie recently. God was it awesome.
I really like how Pam was miserable throughout the whole movie, except for the scene where they go to a bar and have 'one beer'. Then she perks up. You really wish that moment could have lasted longer, but it doesn't.
