This movie was boring.
That's the worst thing a movie can be. Good, is good, bad is sometimes so bad you're entertained by it... boring is the worst.
Estimated $116 million. Did around 41 million on Friday alone.
America is so dumb.
I agree with everything everybody said. I thought it was just ok too. I really gotta admit I dug the visuals though. I thought everything was appropriately trippy. I also saw it in 3D which added absolutely nothing to the experience. I thought it might have been a fun watch in 3D, but it really wasn't.
I also though Anne Hathaway was really hot in this movie, but all my buddies disagreed with me afterwards.
No one bothers with reviews, a lot of people were looking for a new movie to check out and this fit the bill. We'll see if word of mouth kills it next week.
I think it was worth the price of admission to see the visuals. That's about it.
Also, when Alice says she can't stay because she has shit to do I said "why not you dumb cunt" out oud and pissed off some parents.
I realize now that this was actually the same project as the American McGee's Alice movie, it just passed hands a few times. My cousin's wife was casting it at one point.
I didn't see it and probably won't any time soon. I feel like Tim Burton needs to stop worrying so much about being Tim Burton and try something new. Whenever he steps out of his comfort zone (Ed Wood, Big Fish) it seems to work well, but enough of Johnny Depp in makeup and spirally backgrounds.
