Thread: Alice in Wonderland

Watched it tonight. Wasn't that bad. I imagine it will be this generation's labyrinth.

However I found the ending to be way more fantastic than the book it was based on.

So a teenage girl can embarrass a lord in front of almost a hundred people and his dad will make her a partner/apprentice AND she will get to sail on a ship to very sexiest China? Riiiiiigggghhhhttttt

  2. To me it just seemed like a generic quest story with Alice in Wonderland settings and characters grafted onto it. The themes that are used so cleverly in the books are only addressed superficially. It may as well have been Battle for Fraggle Rock.

That said, I found it entertaining and fun, and the pacing kept me from getting bored, so I can't say it's a bad film. It just didn't live up to the source material.

I'm not sure what being British has to do with saying pretty shit. I've been saying pretty shit since I learned the word shit? It's not like I said "bollocks"

I am so with you there. The Tron trailer had me so stoked, and then the beginning of the movie was so perfect I thought the rest would be too.

Labyrinth should be this generations Labyrinth.

  7. I saw this in 2D. The highlight for me was the Legend of the Guardians trailer.

  8. That movie is going to be directly responsible for everyone having owl avatars again.
