Agreed. I enjoyed the movie, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I saw it in 2D.
Also, I'm glad this movie wasn't a rehash of the original Alice story. It could have never topped Disney's version, so why try? Let Burton have his vision and go nuts-- he did, and I was thoroughly entertained.

This movie was better than stills or the internet would have me believe! It's not nearly as bad as Sleepy Hollow or that god awful Barber killing guys movie, and it's actually really pretty on a legitimate screen.
Drew was completely right about everything! The tiny, barely perceptible movements and facial expressions were more impressive than super colors.
That one scene that showed the original Alice in the original Wonderland made me wish that they'd made the original stories into this movie instead of a new story. It would've been really great! But this was good too!

I don't think it was that good, although not as terrible as reviews made it out to be. So much felt out of place an anomalous though...like this could've been any movie about anyone. So little actually hinged on the Wonderland trappings.
I dug the full CG characters way more than the CG/people monstrosities. The Queen was the worst of the lot, although that overly tall knight was pretty bad with the jerky, lousy, terrible animation. Cheshire Cat rocked though.
Also seems like Burton has finally directed squarely to the Hot Topic market. I don't remember Scissorhands or Nightmare being so full of goth-vs.-vibrance aesthetics and long, glittery eyelashes.
Don't think I'd watch it again (and not in 3D - what a waste), but maybe on DVD...
