It's actually a lot better than I thought it would be. I love the movie but I wouldn't want a sequel because I feel they ran the concept into the ground. A cartoon allows them to do shit they couldn't in live-action and it helped freshen things up a little.

Still, it took forever to get made, though, and it's only just the one pilot episode, right? I have a feeling it won't get picked up for a full series, though. Just a vibe.

Don't really think this translates to a cartoon. A cartoon is an alternate reality, and part of what made Black Dynamite work was the complete lack of suspension of disbelief. You weren't supposed to feel like you were watching a bad ass action hero, you were watching some former football player from the 70s badly acting his way through an action movie. Michael Jai White wasn't playing Black Dynamite, he was playing the actor playing Black Dynamite. That's why it was funny.

I like the visual style though.
