  1. TNL Movie Club: The Stoned Age (1994)

    Los Angeles, 1970's

The Stoned Age is a ridiculous 90's movie set in the 70's. I ran across this randomly looking for something to watch a while back and was pleasantly surprised to find it was actually a decent movie, appreciated on it's own terms.

While easily compared to other films like Dazed and Confused, Wayne's World and Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, the Stoned Age manages to create something unique with it's language and characters.

A simple story following Joe and Hubbs on the search for booze, chicks and a party somewhere in Torrance sets the stage for adventure and hijinks!

This movie is hilarious, and I picked it because I doubt many have seen it before. Featuring Frankie Avalon and Blue Oyster Cult (because they couldn't get The Who, lol)! Keep your eyes peeled for plenty of things in the background that weren't around yet in the 70's and a great Taylor Negron bit.

Look for this in the usual place tomorrow morning since it may be tough to find.

  2. Not only does Netflix have it, it's on demand! Fire up your 360s folks!

    Looks like my kinda movie.

  3. lol, looks like fun.

  4. This was a fun movie with a lot of low budget "this is my first real movie!" moments. Not too much to say really, take it for what it's worth and enjoy the ride with some great characters and some truly funny set ups.
