I dunno about that. There's a shitload of secret areas in each stage, and those little Kubatan things to find in each. I guess it helps if you're into score attack stuff too. I'm currently ranked 663/11647 and I haven't even tried for scores on each level yet.
Also, there's an alternate control scheme for it which will fix the controls to wherever you touch. That might work well for the iPad.

It's game of the year imo. I need 2 more of the Kubatan gems to be done with it (5-3 and 5-4) but they're fucking impossible. Found a shitload more secret areas in those levels though, so once I do get through them my rank should go up quite a bit.
I did the first world on hard mode last night too, and it's fucking mental. Regular enemies have more dense bullet patterns than the first four bosses on Normal, and the little bugs that you use to keep your multiplier alive actually shoot at you as well. It's fucking crazy hard, but it's still a shit load of fun. Fuck.

Thanks man, I'm on it. Had it for the phone but I think the screen was too small to really appreciate the game.
