So... lets step back from games for a bit. What are some other aps worth getting? The "must have" applications, if you will.

Things besides AIM, Facebook, ect.

My pick: Bento, but only if you have it for your computer as well (lol macfag). It's like excel, but dumbed down with a noob friendly interface.

The arrow is fucking annoying, you're right.

Try out Xenowars though, it's like those games combined with a match three puzzle game. Kind of Puzzle Quest esque. It's the best of em IMO.

As for other apps. Hrrrrmmm. Stanza I'd say. And I've got various Japanese related apps that would be useless to you. Air Mouse is pretty awesome.

anyone willing to take a plunge on this app released today? Its called media:connect, and it boasts the ability to play DLNA and UPnP media on the iphone, but the in-app purchase to the advanced edition claims it can turn the iphone into a media server to stream music and media to DLNA clients like the PS3 and the 360.

99 cents to buy the app and no listing for how much the advanced edition in app purchase costs.

I dunno if you saw me tweet about GeeTasks, but I fucking love it. I've been using it for a week now and it's a fucking life saver. Syncs with Google Tasks, so if you're a heavy Google user (I moved my main mail account, calendar and contacts over there a few months ago) it's fantastic. Being able to manage my tasks from my desktop / notebook, then get the reminders on the phone = win.



It also allows for nested tasks for more complex things. I'm using it to organise parts and shit for my arcade cab project, and it really helps.

I dunno if it's available on appulo.us yet (I would imagine not), but I didn't mind dropping the 3 bucks for it.

Some other apps I use daily;

Free RSS Reader - Can sync with a whole load of web based readers.
iTreadmill - Nice pocket pedometer which is really quite accurate.
Twitteriffic - Twitter.

I'd love an RSS reader that actually read headlines + summary to you. Sometimes when I'm walking I'd just like to hear the news.

So Pac Man CE is out soon. IGN rated it rather poorly but seemed to base the review on the forced microtransactions. Other than that it sounds sweet.


Also Dragon Lair and Ace Combat are now out. Someone buy these and tell us how they are. THanks.
