But the real question. Is it even available right now? The people at my store, who are normally quite good, just gave me blank stares when I was asking about it.
You can typically find it at World Market:

It that was all Sam Adams did, I wouldn't mind a bit.

On a whim today, I tried a Sam Smith's Organic Cider. I have never had a cider before, and I can usually trust Sam Smith's for a safe representation of a brew style.
I didn't really like it. It was okay, but compared to beer, its flavor profile was so thin; sweet, carbonated, but without complexity. Is this what I should expect? I have heard that the most commonly available ciders in the US are pretty much garbage, but I was still hoping for more.
I picked up a pretty good cider at Whole Foods once. It tasted like it was actually made from apples rather than something like Strongbow which is way nasty sweet.
I bought Budweiser American Ale for the lulz. It was inoffensive.
I had Magner's Irish cider in Chicago. Shit was pretty good (I wasn't partial to the Woodchuck or Strongbow I had tried). Can't find it for sale anywhere around here, though, none of the liquor stores have even heard of it.
I've been told K Cider is good. It's supposed to be dry, but I don't know personally.
