People don't change. That's the point of that show.
Yup, everybody knew that but Don. Maybe he has an epiphany, maybe he doesn't. Either way he still (Perhaps in this order) Works, Falls in love, Gets bored, sabotages work/marriage and the resets.

Betty sure as shit knew it, and as a kindness to him, and to her children, told him to not worry about it and let the kids have some normalcy with the relatives.

Yea, Roger even said "he does that" when Hobart was complaining. Peggy knew to soft-pedal him and he even said "see you soon." That's why those kids aren't gonna go live with him after Betty dies.

As much as I would love to see this dude living a Pete Campbell in Wichita life he's just not gonna do it.

  3. I had a moment of terror yesterday where I was envisioning Hotel California to be the ending song and even though I love the Eagles this really upset me. I'm glad it also didn't end with Desperado hahhaa

He definitely comes back to do Coke, makes the most iconic ad campaign of all time, etc. I'm hoping that maybe he achieved some peace in knowing that pitching ads is where he is at his best - but yeah i'm sure he goes back to being miserable and dying alone. But he learned to meditate so that's good, i hope that helps him.

I thought they way they portrayed that specific part of California was so on point - not only the scenery but the way the people look and interact - I've spent a lot of my life in where that is basically supposed to be and it's so beautiful and so iconic but really troubling and trying too. You can really see why NorCal is "the new New York" in regards to tech/wealth - this weird, Manifest Destiny thing.

I have solace in the fact that Pete becomes the BTK killer, thank you to who originally said that. It brings me peace.

Bizarrely enough this same exact ad was in Happyish on Showtime on the same night in the same time slot. It seems like too much to be coincidence, but how could it be anything but?

  7. Liked the finale. Would watch a Peggy and Joan spinoff.

But Peggy didn't join up with Joan, did she?

  9. No she stayed at McCann. I just really enjoyed the way Joan's story left off.

I worked at McCann early in my career (they're called MacLaren McCann up here). It sucked.

  10. Really dug the finale, great show.
