Well, Udon updated the contest info, apparently there were 2072 entries, whereas the SF Tribute had around 1400.
Aw man, that's no good. I just turned my second entry in about 10 minutes ago. I think my first is much more likely to get in, but just in case those characters or art style is over-represented maybe this other one will have a chance. Went with Donovan and Morrigan this time, with plenty of innuendo (she took his sword...and his manhood).
That doesn't help my odds.
Maybe there was more buzz about this? I didn't hear anything about the Street Fighter book until this thread. Which had pretty good odds, 300 artists out of 1400+ works, that's 1 in 5... Darkstalkers is going to be closer to 1 in 7...
edit: read 2072 as 2702!

Looks good, Fury. Talbain's anatomy is awesome, I'd love to see the rest of their bodies. I look forward to see everyone's stuff later!
Here's the face from mine. I got pretty detailed with it, but the rest of the picture is much looser.
Yeah, now the waiting game. Nice work with the Hsien-ko, she was definitely on my list...instead I opted to focus on the 4 most over-represented characters, heh. I figured this is a vanity project anyway, so might as well do what first grabs ya.
This whole project got me to thinking though, there's really no lame Darkstalkers characters. Sometimes when I'm trying to pick someone in SF4, I realize how bland the overall cast is (design wise)...even the DS characters that appeal to me least (Victor, Rikkuo) really shine in-game with their animations and moves. I have no reason to think this, but I hope this book foreshadows a new Darkstalkers title, probably using some variant of the SF4 engine.
That's awesome, Hero! Congratulations!
