Italian developer Trecision has announced that they have begun development of a Popeye racing title for the Playstation 2 and PC. Titled Popeye, Hush Rush for Spinach, the game will be published by another French company, Cryo.
“Trecision is developing a top-quality title which will be appreciated by both the millions of fans Popeye â has all over the world and demanding players who expect an original and exhilarating gaming experience,” said Massimiliano Sacchi, Sales and Marketing Director at Trecision. “Popeye, Hush Rush for Spinach takes a new approach to the racing genre, adding a number of twists to the formula, thus greatly differentiating the title from any other game on the market. We’re delighted that Cryo has chosen Trecision as partner for the development of the game. Trecision’s technical skills and expertise will allow us to create a stunning title starring one of the the world’s most beloved cartoon hero”.
The racing in Popeye, Hush Rush for Spinach will take place on various two-wheeled vehicles as Popeye is pitted against other famous Popeye characters such as Olive Oyl, Wimpy, and Brutus. The game will combine racing and action together, as gamers negotiate multi-path tracks and road hazards while collecting power-ups and performing a host of acrobatic stunts.
Look for Popeye, Hush Rush for Spinach in the first quarter of 2003 for the Playstation 2 and PC.
