Thread: 20 Years for Yaoi + Other Government Sex Law Stupidity

  1. Because pedos are easy political targets. They're what blacks were to conservatives in the 1950/60s, homos since forever and foreigners or whatnot. No one is going to politically take a stand for them, they don't vote in large numbers and unlike the former targets, they do harm children.

And unlike other criminals who are sympathetic in some way: he did it b/c it was the only way a black man could succeed, to support his family, to defend his children/wife, or consenting adults, pedos are not sympathetic and do actually harm children by having sex with them.

Thus any overbroad laws that happen to target other convenient political targets: gays, porn, video games or arabs can make a social conservative appear good to their voters. I mean really if they're overruled they can rail against the liberals in the SC and about state's rights. If they're affirmed, they busted another pedo and fought for the children safety. Its win win except for the poor bastard in the middle who is going to lose his job, reputation, family ties and whatever jail time/court costs this incurs.

And most people will nod along regardless of the facts of the case.

  2. I don't know to what extent people who read hentai could really be called "pedophiles" though. It does seem like a bit of a witch hunt to me. Someone enjoying a fantasy about fictional characters that might be 16 or 17 is a pretty far cry from someone who wants to act out against children.

Funny story, the guy who taught the class I needed to take to get my license to practice security here, really, he just BS'ed the whole time because the class was crap, told this story of a woman he did some P.I. work for. She claimed her husband was cheating, and he was, he caught the two getting all kinds of kinky on video, showed it to the wife, and she said, "That's his sister." He recomended a lawyer and she said that it wasn't necessary, "So long as he keeps it in the family."

I don't know if that is the reason. Has anyone actually used these cases to prop themselves up? Have there been campaign adds where they say so and so wants to protect your kids and he did it buy putting dirty homo hentai Joe Bob in jail.

It seems like the people behind all this stuff is the FBI. Which if they are trying to improve their image, are just pissing in the wind. Americans either hate then, mistrust them, or are indifferent. No one likes or loves them. Catching peds in any shape or form won't change that.

    cultural divide imo.

for the most part, manga/anime/hentai characters are relatively ageless. They are drawn almost featureless. Take something like Neo Gen EVA. Is there a huge difference between the way Rei, Asuka, and Misato are drawn? And what are the differences? Misato is like 3 inches taller and they giver her darker clothes to make her more mature?

In most of that stuff the only way you know characters are older and younger is by the context of the writer. The writer gives their age or shows them doing "adult' things. And to the best of my knowledge, no one gets a hard on and starts touching themselves over being told a cartoon is 17 instead of 19. I doubt Mzo has ever sat in his house thinking "oh god, she's too old....oh wait, did the artist just say she was actually 16!?! well, well, well"

more examples. Can you honestly tell me you see a huge difference between A-Ko and the main character of tank police? One's probably 16/17. The other is grown adult. Every girl ever in anime looks like that. The second groups of picture is gundam wing yoie. Those two men are adults. But one looks younger than the other. Why? Because they removed features from the characters faces.

  6. Even beyond that, I think you're missing the point. Cartoons are inherently in this weird fantasy realm. It's all about being as naughty as possible through the veil of a cartoon, which keeps it in the fantasy realm. I think that's why they're looking at cartoons and not real porn.

I mean look at guro. It's Patrick Bateman shit, and if it was realistic, I don't think it'd exist. I can't say I understand that audience, but I'm still pretty comfortable saying they probably don't want to fuck a decapitated corpse in real life. I wouldn't call people that read that necropheliacs, and I wouldn't call people that read hentai with underage characters pedophiles.

  7. But that's how the law is written, porn is porn whether line art or abused kids. Oh and the cases I cited are pretty much my con law notes so yes, that's the standing constitutional justification.

Well, the law needs to change then.

People don't need to get 20 years for looking at some ink on paper. People don't need to get 20 years because some dip shit thought he would be clever and put CP in a porn download. Stupid 16 year olds don't need to be put on the sex offender list because they texted some nudes to their 17 year old bf.

This is one of the ways that the rich and powerful in the US are completely insane. They are scared of the shit between their legs. People bring up sex and they shit their brains out.

The US needs to grow up. Magic is not real. Images do not turn you into anything. Acting girly or knowing gay men does not make you gay. The perfect wedding does not give you "happily ever after." The Salem witch trials were almost 300 years ago, but American society still believes that a few actions can cause things to magically happen.
