  1. TNL Movie Club: It's All Gone Pete Tong (2004)

    It's All Gone Pete Tong.

It's All Gone Pete Tong is a 2004 Canadian fictional independent mockumentary about Frankie Wilde (Paul Kaye), a DJ who goes completely deaf. The title is a reference to a rhyming slang phrase used in Britain in the 2000s, referring to the BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong, standing for "it's all gone wrong". Like the similar mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, the film takes measures to appear non-fictional, but Frankie Wilde himself is a fictional character.

  2. Great pick. I saw this a few years back when it was first released and loved it, and for some reason never got around to seeing it again. What I loved about the movie is the amount of detail put into actually making it feel like Frankie Wilde was really an integral part of the club scene even though he wasn't real. If you didn't know any better you would think the movie is all true.

  3. Indeed. Few things can do comedy and drama right together.

  4. Got this, gonna watch it today.

  5. Thanks for letting me know this movie exists Matt, I don't think I would have found it on my own. I really, really liked it. Great story and characters, the acting was damn good which really helped sell Frankie as a real person. It's such a well put together movie. The music, and cinematography and the editing! After watching so many action movies with ass editing it was really refreshing to see a movie that had such a tight vision and care behind it.

    Highly recommended.

  6. It is full of win, yes.
