yeah, but when does this ever happen? You want to ban something based on a hypothetical.

The last time I can think of that there were lots of gun deaths in the US due to automatics was during the classic Mob period. And they were doing it to fight the cops. Not because they were having fits of anger.

Didn't read the whole thread, but my mother works for NASA, and she says that the head of NASA that came under bush was the best thing that has ever happened to NASA. Apparently he was a genius who had both leadership and scientific skills, but quit in response to the massive NASA cuts.

Edit: Ok read it all, and I am pro pistol ban, against assault rifle ban. It is just too easy to conceal a pistol for my comfort. But I guess I live near DC and Baltimore, so I may have a different view on this.

I'd rather see more done to end poverty than to limit or ban guns. I think that would have a bigger impact on crime and murder in the US than making laws about this and that weapon.
