  1. Guacamelee is such a tease. It gets soooooooooo close to being a meaty game, and then pulls back right before it gets going. The insane non difficulty is a hair puller. Somebody do something to halt my progression!

I wouldn't be upset if there weren't so many good ideas and so much fun in here. I really wish difficulty was still allowed these days. Fun none the less and well worth the price. I mean, your morph ball is a rooster. A rooster!

  2. The challenge in modern games has to come from convoluted controls, reading tiny text, and navigating nested menus.
You can't expect people to develop skill or try something more than twice without progressing.
I'm pretty sure that's what they teach at game school.

Are you saying this having played to the end? By then you'll be fighting rooms full of guys attacking you from two dimensions and who all have different-colored shields that all require different trigger moves to even begin damaging them. And you will most definitely lose some hair over the platforming required of one treasure in particular.

And yet Trials and Super Meat Boy are two of the best-selling games on XBLA.

  5. Define 'modern games'.

Not the end, but I'm at the tree. I have the dimension shifting and I've been to the rooms with multi dimensional shielded enemies.

  7. Ok, Guacamelee definately picks up at the War Temple. It's making me play for real now...but still not anything I'd call hard. Just satisfying.

Super secret bonus to the update no one has mentioned yet:

You can see a diminutive icon, I mean really fucking tiny, to the left of the battery indicator depicting the game card that is currently in your Vita.

That and folders were my major complaints! The folders are really ugly!

    Game card? People buy those?

Yep, every time the option is there. It might be a different story if the digital price was always significantly cheaper or if storage space wasn't an issue. That's why I'm fully digital on PC and nowhere else, really.

Even if it wasn't expensive, just the act of changing memory cards on the Vita is a pain in the ass. Sucks but true. I'm milking out a single 32 GB card forever.
