$19.99. I liked the first but no need to get a remix for full price.

Yeah, but the survivors mostly don't need you to get zombies off of them anymore anyway. And it's hard to resist the impulse to carry around combo weapons and materials over the uncombineable stuff.

As far as good weapons from DR1 that didn't get gimped, the dumbbell is still super effective.

  3. Yeah, I really only go for the broad sword you can grab off the wall in the one casino close to the safehouse. The third hit 360-slash is pretty fucking incredible. Otherwise it's nail-bat all day every day, if only for the bonus PP.

  4. I turned a corner while playing Co-Op with Myk and he threw a brick at my face while laughing.

    I lol'd too.

  5. My favorite / most deadly weapon so far is knives on boxing gloves. For zombie clearing, I like the firework cannon.

So far, I've completed every mission and killed every psycho without having to restart. I'd say it's about the same difficulty as the first game. I just have more experience in the zombie slashing now.

I thought I made a Dead Rising 2 + Case Zero specific thread so it doesn't share billing with shit LP, but I can't find.

John and I started this up co-op and it's fantastic, no technical issues so far. Highlights include taking survivors to fight Shaggy in the bathroom (some of them did not make it, RIP) and leaving Sven the paramedic behind to chase TK's train on motorcycles, only to actually have him survive the ordeal with a tiny bit of health afterwards.

Survivors are much better at not being shitheads this time around; much, much better. Co-op makes the game a blast.

We need to make some hard-hitting shit to fuck up that chef dude, any recommendations? Boxing glove knives sounds rad.

  7. Flaming Boxing Gloves hit hard and fast or hit and run with the Defiler. Once Chuck can do the dodge/roll the psychopaths are a million times easier.

  8. There are many rad inventions. If you need some backup and don't have a co-op partner handy, why not take a giant stuffed bear with an LMG to mow down your enemies? If you can actually find a pitchfork, combine it with a surprise that zombies are sure to enjoy. I'm impressed that a number of items have multiple uses. Leaf blower is part of at least four combos; gems, parasol, spears, and one I can't remember.

I did it after the bank heist event triggered... Got some LMGs from the heist guys, then went and recruited the band playing in Silver Strip and equipped them all with said LMGs. Brought 'em with me to the chef fight and they put him down in about 5 seconds.

  10. Playing the full game, where you're mostly running around relatively small indoor areas just like the first one (but with curiously less charm), I feel kind of deceived by Case Zero and its open outdoor environment where you got to climb on buildings and see the desert stretch off to the horizon and shit. Fortune City's layout needs to be turned inside-out, if that makes sense. As it is, it doesn't feel like a city at all, just a mall with the JC Penney's, Dillard's and Macy's replaced with casinos. (And how the hell do the tourists get in and out? The buildings connect to each other and the courtyard, sorry, "strip," but there are no gates to the outside world! Even if they're impenetrably locked down because of the zombie outbreak, they should still exist.)

And another thing Case Zero promised that the full game didn't deliver: interesting survivors. In CZ they all either had some kind of mission you had to do to get them to follow you, or one you could do for bonus money/xp after saving them. By far most of the ones in the full game are just the basic, find 'em and save 'em type.

In all I feel like DR2 is JUST more of the same, where CZ made it look like DR taken to the next level. Wish I'd saved my money for Castlevania instead.
