The concept behind the lock-on cart still blows me away, 15 years later. Genesis was so fucking awesome.

I can't remember why I got the idea in my head but back then I was convinced that using S&K with Sonic 2 was going to put the removed Hidden Palace Zone back in the game. I was disappointed when it didn't.

At least now we have the Sonic 2 Beta to fool around with parts of that stage.

Not true. S&K is actually composed of levels that were to be the other half of Sonic 3. None of them are on the Sonic 3 cart, and they can only be played on S&K. So technically, it's a separate game.

If that's the case, you can always set up your own goals within the game and do them, like finishing Golden Axe 1 without getting hit at all. Shmup fans have been doing forever now.

But getting more games in a collection disc will always be better than getting less/individually for more money. This is not an opinion unless you live in bizzaro world.

Any indication on how good the emulation on this is this time around? It was good on the last Genesis Collection, but some of the sound was fucked up.
