The rights to the Monster World/Wonderboy name and characters is held exclusively by Sega, and the games are developed by Westone, which I beleive is now defunct, so I seriously doubt this is related.
www.the-magicbox.com updated all Japanese console release dates for the summer. Of note is a simple 1500 game by Success called Monster Complete World. It's billed as a RPG. Anyone know D3's web address?
Also the first Dreamcast Simple 2000 game by D3 (a digital comic) is due in August. Here's hoping this is the start of some cool niche games, though this late in the console's life... *-neo

I know Westone created them (still going BTW) but are you sure Monster World is owned by Sega? There's been several versions of the various games released under other publishers such as Hudson and Ascii. *-neo
And every time they did they had to change the name and main characters (Dragon's Curse, Dynastic Hero, Adventure Islabnd...) to get around Sega's copyrights. Sega doesn't own the GAMES but they do own the Monster World and Wonderboy names and characters. Also, are you sure Westone is together? They haven't released a game in around 6 years and their website went down late last year.Originally posted by neoalphazero

Hmm haven't checked Westone's site in 6 months (quite a neat little site too), but they did release a fishing game on PSX a few years ago. Oh well, chalk them up with Technosoft. *-neo
Actually, that rumour came from that huge pre-e3 list of SEGA games that were SUPPOSED to be announced at the show....... but never were.Originally posted by Melf
Wasn't there a Wonder Boy game slated for the GBA? Maybe this is it.
*prays*
Being a huge Wonderboy gane I was super excited about it, so I did some investigating. Apparently the source for that list was some message board clown who calls himself in "insider" and has a reputation for never being correct in his predictions.
So, basically there is probably nothing to that rumour, but I hope it comes true anyway because Wonderboy is one of my favourite series and I would kill for a GBA version.
I'd just like to chime in and say that Wonderboy 6 is bloody fantastic. The ROM has been translated too, definately check it out.

To answer the original inquiry, Monster Complete World is a monster raising game from Idea Factory.
