And OMG if you get it to level 4 you can charge in and just knock everyone the fuck over. Blast Wave IMO.

Bought it. Trying to polish of ME1. About an hour to go. This game looks fantastic I can't wait (I started a throw away save to see the start).

This game is awesome. All the technical hitches are gone, and it seems to be one of the smoothest-running UE3 games yet - while looking considerably better than the first. I'm playing as an adept and am having a lot of fun abusing pull and warp, though I'm saddened to see singularity got a (justified) nerf. The combat isn't quite up to the quality of something like Gears of War, but most games don't reach that level. In Mass Effect 2, the problem comes with the way they pretty much copied the "do everything" button from Gears but didn't spend as much time as Epic did on tweaking and adjusting so that you rarely, if ever, end up doing something you'd rather not do. I've accidentally grappled over pieces of cover more than a few times, and had Shepard take cover behind the wrong object a couple times. Still, though, the combat is quite good and definitely a cut above most third-person shooters.
It's... interesting to see how they stripped down a lot of the statistics. I'm quite happy with the changes they made - it's still an RPG through and through, but due to the choices you make, not the experience and loot you rack up. In a lot of ways, Mass Effect 2 actually reminds me a lot of the "interactive movies" of the mid-90s like Wing Commander 3, only with decisions every few seconds, not just once per video clip. It's really amazing to see how divergent this game and Dragon Age are from each other, while both still remaining very distinctively BioWare RPGs.
I'd write more but I'd rather play it.

Steph came in while was I talking to Miranda about something and she recognized her as the girl from Chuck. Does anybody else look like the in-game counterpart?
Liara from ME1 is modeled after Jillian Murray, but I don't really see it. It looks like they worked a little Drew Barrymore in there to me.
Miranda's teeth are modeled so deliberately that it was a quick give-away. Kind-of a butterface depending on the lighting (somewhat unavoidable in a game like this). I like that she's distinct and pretty, instead of 'generic attractive female04', but whenever she's going off on her genetically-engineered good looks I'm like, bitch, I look better than you. I have to play nice for naked time, though. I mean, they bothered to model her camel toe and all, I feel it's due.
Samara is modeled after Nelson Mandela.
