Also, there's zero word on split screen so far. I'd like it to be in there, but at least we have System Link.
I want this and while I'm at it, I'll take Powerstone for XBLA. If VOOT is coming, then nothing is impossible !

Split Screen really should be in there, especially now that there's widescreen and it can be accommodated better.
System Link means that I can play locally without worrying about lag or tiny ass screens. I don't give a shit how few people use it. It's not the most convenient way to play locally, but it's unquestionably the best, and every single console game with online play should support it.
My only guess with the split screen is that they'd have to rebuild the mode from the ground up, and figure it isn't worth it. and since they're japanese developers they probably lost the DC port's source code!
Oh, I wasn't aware that live support has been confirmed.
Now that I'm aware that it'll have Live support, I don't care as much, but I still stand by the fact that having system link support is no substitute for other forms of local play (split screen, I guess being the other alternative).
If it's no extra hassle to implement it over and above Live support, then they might as well, but just not enough people can take advantage of it for it to be a replacement for split screen.
In this day and age, the idea of everyone bringing their own Xbox somewhere, and having to have multiple TVs (where one person is likely to get an inferior set), and running cable on the ground is outdated plain excessively retarded. I understand after all that trouble the experience is pretty awesome, but the only place where it might be logical is in Dorm rooms, and Gaming Cafe's.
If you want to have a LAN party, go back to 1996 and play Quake.

I agree with Tain. As an owner of two 360s (and two nearly identical 50" Pio Elites) and being someone who much prefers offline/local to online versus, I am ecstatic that VO:OT will have system link. In fact, seeing more games (on all consoles) with system link would probably be the deciding factor in getting that second PS3 and second Wii that I've been considering.
Well, you see...you're one of the 'tards with an excessive setup.
How's life in the Hamptons?
I may seem bitter, and I am. But as someone who can barely afford one TV (and just recently an HDTV at that), one Xbox 360 that will probably bite the dust any minute. It'd be great if they'd accomodate me (THE MAJORITY), so I can play with my buddies.
God knows that the rich are happy rolling around in their gardens of money as it is...
In all seriousness. Not having split screen is an F-you to those without the means to buy TWO of every console (let alone owning one of each console).
I won't even go into the fact that you'd have to buy two copies of the game. I'd just be beating a dead horse.
