Thread: VO:OT

  1. I'm trying to figure that out myself. The textures look nicer in shots, but the trailer on the site makes 'em look pretty similar to the DC version. It's too late for me to bother checking.

It could just be that I didn't make 'em out in the faster-moving trailer. They look pretty damn high-res in the shots.

    btw, trailer: http://vo-ot360.sega.jp/dl_image/trailer.zip

  2. The main reason it's so hard to tell is because the textures were pretty damned good in the first place, but they do look better to me in the screens and the trailer. It could be just that the picture itself is clearer than what we had back then, though.

  3. Awesome news on the online and the pics look gorgeous.

    isamu i channel you

Online play is the obvious big draw, but System Link just shows me this port cannot possibly be handled poorly; even when XBL is dead and gone, I'll have this, lol.

I had such a huge obsession with this game when I was younger, but the fact is that only in these past couple years have I really started to see what fighting games are like when you can actually get better at them. That is, when you have human competition, when you're good enough to learn from it, and when that competition is good enough to learn from you. It's so obvious why they're seen the way that they are. It's almost a wonder why I liked them in the first place, as a middle school kid. Hell, I want to say that I've started to see competitive games in general drastically differently these past few years, but that's getting away from the topic.

So I've been in love with the mechanics, as they are on paper, forever, but now I'll get to play the game online. Now I'll get to actually experience the whole skill development part of things.

This is a very big deal for me, as far as games go. This is fucking huge. Will the game be as impossibly good as I want it to?
This is funny because VO:OT was one of the first games you and I played after I finally convinced you to let me come over since you lived two streets away from me. But I am very excited, and I agree with you about how much looking at competition changes; it just took me a little longer to get there I think. I'm excited though, really excited, plus it's coming in spring so it's not a far way away.

  6. I am still skeptical that this will turn out good. I am hoping that I am wrong and this game will have solid netcode and the dual analog will emulate the twinstick well.

The pics so far looks great....

  7. Fuck I want to buy it now.....

  8. Looks like I'm going to have to whore myself out to buy a 360 since I blew my money on a laptop.

Good god, Online play I'm so sold.
