The one I like is ...

Call of Duty: World At War - Firestarter: Complete a mission using only the flamethrower. Melee, grenades & explosives are OK. (Solo or co-op)

  4. Sorry, I had to steal that sandwich.

  5. Shouldn't that read "created then ate an awesome sandwich"?

    I fucking hated that achievement.

I hate the ones every JRPG seems to have of forcing you to collect every item in the game. Usually, there are something like, 800 items, and several are one-time chances that you can't go back and get if you miss them the first time. Infinite Undiscovery had this bullshit achievement.

Blue Dragon had some really stupid ones, like one for each character reaching level 99. The thing is, you beat the game with everyone around level 63, so who the fuck is going to sit and grind 36 more levels for each character? Yet there are several boss battles in the game that give you nothing. WTF?

Personally, I don't like multi-player achievements, because you won't get them unless you play the game when it comes out. People on XBL have a tendency to drop games like a hot potato when a new one hits, and going back now to get those achievements in games like Perfect Dark Zero (which had really good multi-player modes) and The Darkness are all but impossible unless you boost, and then you're still screwed for ranked match achievements.

On the PS3 side, the worst part of them is that so few fucking games have them. I thought Sony mandated that every game released after January '09 would have to have them? It seems like every game I play doesn't, and far too few older games have patched for them (like Uncharted).

Why? Because that achievement actually requires skill instead of monotony? I wish more achievements are based on that instead of bullshit like kill 100,000 enemies or collect all doodads.

  7. Most multiplayer achievements (outside of total wins) are totally retarded. Usually when a game or map pack first hits people arent even playing the game and are just trying to get them. You usually hear stupid kids screaming over the mic trying to tell everyone to stand still. EX: Halo3's hit 2 people in a row with the flag achievement.

Ace Combat has alot of stupid achievements from the certain multiplayer modes that no one ever plays. So those aint happening.

I really dig challenging, but obtainable ones. Im not talking one crediting Ikaruga. One of the most insane single player achievements is also from Ace Combat (all medals achievement). You have to beat the game well over 10 times in all different ways - ranging from not getting hit once in the entire campaign, to beating the game soley with each plane type (theres 3 types), to using ONLY guns and no missiles. All for one 50pt or so achievement. That said, I nearly have it it
NowPlaying: Battlefield series . DarkSouls . MGS collection . Cap+SNK fighters . AceCombat series . ArmoredCore series

There's no skill in it though. It's one big exercise in trial an error. "Shoot this guy here, toss flash bang there," etc.

  9. WTF? There is very little room for error and I love it. Not sure what you are talking about.

  10. I'm saying that there's no skill involved in passing the level, unless you consider memorizing the location of the bad guys and when to toss a flash bang as "skill." The way to pass it is to play it over and over until you memorize the layout of everything. That's trial and error, and it's tedious.
