Just do quick matches instead of searching for people of equal or higher ability, you should be able to get a good run of them still. I know when I feel like punishing some scrubs and do some quick matches I usually get a good 10+ wins in a row.

I was just about to mention GeoWars 2. I'm currently playing through them at the moment and having a blast. Some of them (Wax Off, Treaty) basically create completely new game types. Wax Off was awesome fun.
