Loved the first Vandal Hearts. Said a "Fuck Yeah" outloud when I saw this thread then got bummed when I saw the screenshots.Looks like Monster Madness the SRPG edition.

Vandal Hearts was my first PS1 purchase. Or maybe second (not sure about release dates). I know that and Suikoden were my first two purchases followed by Castlevania.

That's a little slice of Nobuya Nakazato's directoral resume. He's one of the only guys left in videogames who still knows what the fuck he's doing. If he is involved in this remake/sequel/whatever, it just might be the best game of all time. Serious. Serious, now.

Fuck, Vandal Hearts is one of my favorite games of all time. I still say it has the best menu/shopping system of any RPG ever- everything was so streamlined and flowed beautifully. The characters, storyline, map design and gameplay were all almost perfect. The loved how the choices in combat were simple, whereas the maps were complex, interactive, and able to beaten in different ways, giving the game the feel of chess.

Shit, I might start replaying the original this evening...

Same here! Vandal Hearts is the one RPG that I've played through completely from beginning to end. AWESOME AWESOME game, and I dislike RPGs.

I can't wait for this!
