  1. I finally got around to seeing this today.

I really liked its simplicity. Based on the trailer I was expecting a mind-fuck sci-fi thriller but the story is pretty straight forward and it works.

Also Rockwells ability to portray a man that's been on a space station for three years interacting with the version of himself that's just starting out was spectacular. His acting between Sam 1 & Sam 2 showed his growth over that amount of time better than any flashback could

  2. This was a fantastic movie. I also was expecting a psychological thriller but instead got something immensely more digestible.

Weird fact: The friend I saw it with was sort of confused about the whole thing. This blew my mind because he left Synecdoche thinking that movie made complete, prima facie sense.

Edit: This movie only made $6 million? wtf.

  3. Wasn't it a VERY limited release? It never came within 50 miles of me.

  4. Yeah, the only place in my city that had it was the place that's one tiny step above the art school for low-budget indie film releases, and even there it was in the tiniest back room they had.

Pretty good movie, though I felt it could've used more "alone" time.

    Yessir.

    Budget of $5 million.

I just figured, I dunno, more people would cram into the tiny art house theatres to see it.

  6. It was directed by David Bowie's son.
