The only thing that annoys me about the show is the trash-talking. I thought the one Spartan expert was especially obnoxious to the Ninja guys. It's amusing, but sometimes it gets grating because, as Nick said, it's obviously manufactured by the producers.

The Viking guys were super fucking annoying too.

I caught the Apache vs. Gladiator episode and thought it was a really cool show, very interesting to watch. I loved how the apache guy tried to beat the gladiator helmet with his little bone club thing, it did nothing, BROKE, and then he tries to say he would still kick a gladiators ass with it.

So they just ran Pirate vs. Knight with Pirate winning by a wide margin

PIRATE VS. KNIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD

So I guess the Pirate's black powder technology really did it's thing on the Knight's plate armor. I was very surprised, because according to the test done in-lab the guns didn't do too well against the Knight's armor. Seemed contradictory. Even the grenado didn't do well, and in the end the pirate shot the knight in the face with his flint. Doesn't seem accurate. It should also be noted that tempered plate armor today is much more fine than it was back then, too.

The Grenado and Blunderbuss were key factors in determining the Pirate's win here. I really like the battle at the end of the episode to tell the viewer who won. It's a nice touch. Adds a little anxiety to the whole episode, too.

Yeah, I really wasn't sure who was going to pull out the win there. The Pirate winning was a minor suprise, although it really shouldn't have been considering all the guns he had.

Weird match-up next week: Mafia vs. Yakuza.

In the simulation the Pirates got nailed with a Morning Star. No way anybody could possibly survive a hit with one of those fucking things. The amount of stress it put on the body was horrendous.

He actually got hit by it twice (which, according to the tests they did, should have pulped him), plus he took a crossbow bolt. But the shot with the Blunderbuss really seemed to turn the tide.

I thought the tests had the guns not piercing the armor or am I remembering wrong?
