  1. I really want to see this movie. I hope to be able to acquire it soon, and I'm already almost definite I will be buying it on Blu-Ray when it is released.

  3. Seeing this at midnight. This looks really promising and it better not disappoint like everything else has (minus a few rare exceptions).

  4. WHOA. Now that is what a film should be. Hands down one of the best sci-fi movies ever made.

    You will enjoy the movie if you don't care about every single detail as to why things are the way they are. For example, I can see at least someone on here bitching as to why the ship arrived in the first place and with a million aliens inside doing nothing. It's irrelevant and isn't necessary to the grand scheme of things.

    In the first half of the movie is where you develop a bond with the main character, Wikus, Christopher and his son, and a hatred towards humans. Sharlto Copley, who played Wikus, did a phenomenal job. Looking at his imdb, it looks like this is his first movie he's acted in, and that shocks the shit out of me. He was perfect for the roll. So yeah, in the second part of the film, shit hits the fan and you start root for "good side" to prevail.

    Its been a long time (in theaters) since I've gave a fuck about what happens to a character. But I found myself rooting for the guy. They did a good job establishing that rapport between the viewer and the good guys. The story itself was very appealing. I had no idea what it was going to focus on, but I was pleasantly surprised with the route it took.

    Oh yeah, and there were a lot of kick-ass action sequences. The entire mech scene would give an sci-fi fan a hard-on. And the weapons, shit, those things made fucking humans explode with a breeze. It was some sick shit.

    The ending leaves the door open for a sequel. I wouldn't care for one as this alone was satisfying, but I wouldn't mind more human exploding. It would be pretty sweet if the sequel was in exactly 3 years (you'll know why when you see the movie).


    It's good to know that aliens have arrived on earth and Nigerian scams haven't only gone away, but have adapted to include aliens in the mix.

  8. Heading out in about an hour to check this out. I suspect it will be good, so I will not be shitfaced. I hope Mr. Blomkamp appreciates my effort and understands the honors I pay him, because its been a long time since I've seen a movie sober.

  9. This movie was alright. I got bored in the middle and the end decided to become Terminator.

  10. Wow, it was like Alien Nation meets Borat.

    It was good.

    The plot was actually a lot more contrived than I thought it was going to be. I expected something much better in that department, but the ride was worth it.

    Alien effects were amazingly well done and the robot was really cool.
