Was Liefeld responsible for first two DP mini series (The Circle Chase and whatever the 2nd one is called)? If so, good. If he alread bailed before then, fuck him. Those represent what good Deadpool is to me. Funny, a nice combo of good and and bad personality traits, and lots and lots of cold-blooded killing. When he got his own ongoing book DP became supremely faggotized. He wanted to be a super hero, stopped killing, got waaay too goofy, etc. Marvel always ruins their popular bad guys when they turn 'em good and give 'em their own book (another example: Venom).

A reboot for Deadpool is the way to go.

Looking forward to Wolvie in Japan, as long as it's done well. I mean, ninjas. Fuck. Ninjas are awesome. Just follow the fucking Frank Miller book.

The X-Men franchise and its spin-offs have been so inconsistent from film to film (and Spiderman too) that it's really hard to know. I didn't like Wolverine but it was better than X-3 and got a lot of the feel right. If they had a better ending the entire movie would have been OK. If they're thinking about doing some innovative stuff with Deadpool (movie-wise) to accommodate the different feel of the Deadpool comics I'm have a lot more hope. The Dark Knight really did the comic movie industry a favor by showing dark can sell.

Yeah.... but you KNOW they're going to insist on throwing every vaguely Japanese superhero in that shit. Best/cheapest movie they could do is treat the Miller/Claremont book like storyboards, but they totally won't be able to resist throwing a bunch of flashy shit in there.
