He said Deadpool does indeed break the fourth wall and talk to the audience, just like he does in the comics. [MTV]

The character was created in the Marvel universe by Rob Liefield and Fabian Nicieza. Deadpool, also know as Wade Wilson, is a mercenary who has an accelerated healing factor that he obtained while going through the Weapon X program. He first appeared on the big screen in the not-so-great "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Thanks to the appeal of the character everyone ate him up and immediately a "Deadpool" movie was green lit. Fox is making sure that they try to capitalize on Reynolds while they still can, and what better way to keep him in than to have a big name director in the fold.

The Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick script was recently placed in Rodriguez's hands, so don't expect him to jump into the director's chair and start this production immediately. He just started filming "Spy Kids 4: Armageddon" and is in the middle of post-production for "Machete".

If you had it your way, do you want to see Robert Rodriguez direct "Deadpool"?
