Thread: Archers!

  1. Archers are amazing in Baldur's Gate II. Definitely my favorite class. I haven't tried one in NWN/2, but I'd imagine that they would be the same? Or did they get screwed by some ruleset revision?

  2. If you want to go modern, there is an Archery powerset in City of Heroes.

It can be a primary set (called Archery) which is all offense for the Blaster type or a secondary power for the Defender type. Here's a short vid that shows most of the of the Archery powers in action. The one where she shoots into the air is called [Rain of Arrows]-the big "nuke" power obtained at level 32.

There's another set called Trick Arrow - which is mainly about debuffs. Often overlooked because it's not a healing set. It can be a primary set for Defenders, and a secondary set for Controllers.

if you can make out what's going on, here's a vid of a Defender with the Trick Arrow (Pri) and Archery (sec) sets:

Archer is the best character in Gauntlet.

  4. Final Fantasy XI Archer or Rangers as they are called is a pretty powerful class. They originally were the strongest damage dealing class in the game but SE decided to nerf them slightly seeing as they were making the other DD jobs look a little weaker.

  5. Marcel is top tier in Jeanne D'Arc. The bow-users are great in Shining Force games, too. May the Centaur and that sniper guy were dope.

  6. Link kicks ass at archery in Twilight Princess.

  7. I've always wanted to give CoH (or honestly CoV) a shot I like some of the enemy designs they have there.

  8. Archers are awesome in Rondo of Swords because you can shoot after your move.

  9. Seriously. Ansom is the best non-Cotton character in the game. He's borderline broken.

  10. I used Ansom to rape most of the levels.
