Thread: Some help here for the XBOX newbie

  1. Some help here for the XBOX newbie

Well it finally happened, I just ordered a XBOX system and had a few questions that I know you guys can help me with

    1) What AV hookups does the system come with, what will I need to hook up svideo?

    2) What is the advanced AV pack?

  2. The Xbox comes with composite video. You have to buy S-vid separatly. I think S-video break out boxes are available along with plain s-video cables. I'm running on an Interact S-vid cable with no break out box and it is fine for me (Untill I get the VGA box).

  3. What's a break out box?

Can I use a Advanced AV adapter for svideo?

    Thanks in advance

  4. A breakout box is exactly like DC VGA boxes. It is a small box that plugs into the Xbox's A/V port and provides all kinds of output goodies like S-video plugs and digital audio plugs. I don't know what flavors they come in, and I don't know if the Advanced pack is for S-video or component video. You really only need it if you are planning on running component video or digital (surround sound) audio.

  5. Congrats Werewolf You finally join the dark side

Advanced AV pack is comes with Svideo cables from what I remember.

And if you want to used Component inputs, you need High Defenition Pack, which comes with set of component cables.

Do you have a Component inputs on your TV? If so, I reccomend going with that rout, for better picture quality.

What games are you planning on getting?

I was wondering if the AV adapter came with cables, if it does I will get that.

So far just Gunvalkyrie and Jet Set Radio Future, I will probably pick up Halo too

Those are all you NEED for now.

DOA3, while not VF4 in any regards, is still worth picking up if you like fighters.

Now, get excited about Tekki/Steel Batallion

  8. As much as I love Halo, JSRF, Max Payne, and GUNVALKYRIE, I dare say Morrowind is the best game on the system.

    Bugs and all.

I think you meant, "DOA3, while not VF4 in any regards, is still worth picking up if you like boobies and marginally dressed female models." As it's a crap fighting game.

  10. Opinions, Opinions.

How easy to call the game a Crap, if you just didnt like it.

So what if DOA3 is not a DEEP fighting game. It still very fun game to play, and not because of T & A, as I wouldnt care less about that part. It plays well IMO, and me and DJ have some great time playing it.

So Werewolf, Dont let other people opinions like that stop you from trying this game.
