Victor Maitland (Beverly Hills Cop)- In a word: Ruthless.

Maxwell Dent & Karla Fry (Beverly Hills Cop 2)- "And Max... KILLS COPS FOR A LIVING!"

Hans Gruber (Die Hard)- Just wait until you see him remorselessly blow Takagi's brains out. Yikes.

Col. Nathan Jessup (A Few Good Men)- Despicable to the hilt, and slightly daft- though not as crazy as other Jack Nicholson villains.

Galactic Emperor Palpatine (Return of the Jedi)

Cyrus Kriticos (Thirteen Ghosts)

Alien Queen (Aliens)- What Ripley calls her during the final battle is an apt description.

And I really liked Celestine from the Ah! My Goddess movie, but more in a sympathetic way than an 'OMFG WHAT AN UBER-BADASS!' way.

1) Angela Landsburry in The Manchurian Candidate. I'm serious. Check this movie out. Her performance is DAMN good.

2) Rutger Hower in Blade Runner. Very human and Sympathetic.

3) Mr. Hand from Dark City. Cool as ice.

4) The Rednecks at the end of Easy Rider. They pretty much say it all.

5) Gary Oldman in Leon. Need I say more?

6) Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet. It's Dennis Hopper. Nuff said.

7) Dennis Hopper in Red Rock West. See above.

8) Lance Henriksen in Near Dark. Great Actor. Great Role.

9) Darth Vader.

10) Hal 9000 in 2001.

Rutger Hauer has played some memorable villains. Everyone knows him as Roy Batty in Blade Runner, as Lagomorph points out. He was also great in the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie as the head vampire. But do any of you remember his character in the movie "Nighthawks," with Sly Stallone and Billy Dee Williams? He plays a ruthless East German terrorist. That scene where he kills that hostage by dumping her off the skyway tram is pretty chill-inducing.

Also, good call on Angela Lansbury. Those of you who know her only from Murder She Wrote and Disney's Beauty and the Beast owe it to yourselves to watch The Manchurian Candidate.

Many roles played by Tcheky Caryo. Like main baddie in Bad Boys, Inspector Richard in Kiss of the Dragon, Crazy Cop in Dobermman, Corrupter Interpol agent in Crying Freeman.

Mikey Roorke in Double Team. He was pretty cool, vicious and but also sad in the same time.

Bolo Yung - Remember his 2 Van Damme apperances

Anthony Wong - He played some really memorable villians in HK film, really crazy guys, like in Untold Story, the guy who kills the family, and turns them into meat buns

Simon Yam - Best performance against Chow Yun Fat in Full Contact. Also was great as a truly evil hit man in Run and Kill. Played many, many more villian roles as well.

Jet Li - As YuLaw in the One. I thought he was totally cool, and ruthless with only one thing in mind, to become powerful.

Don't you think that Rutger would be perfect as Geese from KOF? I think they modelled him off him.

Ok, Here are few more entries:

Hoakim Phoenix(sp) character from Gladiator. Very despicable, ruthless, and power hungry.

Characters played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa are usually pretty cool villians Remember Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat ?

Cristopher Lee in Lord of the Rings and Star Wars Attack of the Clones. Two cool villian performances, somewhat very simular to each other.

Joker is the single most villianous villian ever concieved.

Why?

Because when kills, it's not for personal gain, it's not accedental, and it's not malicious.

He kills because he thinks is funny. It's a gam. He gets off on killing people, and laughs himself into a fit.

He is, by far, the most evil villian ever.

It's a shame he got stuck with Batman as his nemesis.

Lagomorph, you are so right about the rednecks in Easy Rider. That scene turned my stomach the first time I saw it.

Mr. Blond - he really looked like he enjoyed cutting up that cop.

Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast. One crazy fucker, Kingsley deserved that oscar.

Frank in Blue Velvet - PABST BLUE RIBBON!!!

The Nightmare Nazis in American Werewolf In London. Scared the Shit out of me when I saw this movie the fist time. (I was 9 or 10 years old)
