Let's break it down game by game and try to fish out these mystical terrible games from Clover/Platinum.

Yep. I disliked to varying degrees every game you listed, except Madworld. They had used up all their chances at that point, so I never bothered with that. The laziness to not even support progressive scan told me I made the right choice too.

Since the DMC producer is on Bayonetta, it gets enough interest to see if it's as bad as everything else this developer has done.

Keep in mind that I am a huge Capcom fan and a former huge Sega fan, so it pains me to pan their titles, but this developer won't allow any other path.

Most of the people bashing Clover/Platinum in their entirety are TNL's usual "hate almost everything" crowd anyway.

This is bullshit. Frog and yourself excluded, the people pimping these games hate at least as much as I do. They just hate different and far better, from an objective perspective, things. No one in their right mind is going to love Okami and pan Half-Life 2, but we've seen it happen. We're talking a B-grade Japanese game and a AAA Western game, so it's bias, not logic talking in those circles.

But there's plenty of elements that range from good to awesome in every one of those games that it's idiotic to completely write them off as a developer.

There are also stupid and/or lazy elements to every one of those games that more than makes up for anything that accidentally got right.

Fair enough. It's become hard to keep track of who hates what, and bashing Half-Life 2 is much worse in my book. I can understand people not liking Clover/Platinum stuff or calling it overrated but to say each game is terrible is pretty extreme. I guess people exaggerate for effect. Every game of theirs had at least some flaw that annoyed me but nothing that would make me give it a failing grade. And I don't recall Frog praising this developer outside of Bayonetta.

Of all the Clover-derived games to like, Yoshi picks garbage like MadWorld. Nice.

What the hell is an "objective perspective" here, anyway? I look at the mechanics and stages laid-out by God Hand and I see a much better game than the insultingly stupid waggle-and-forget situations MadWorld is made up of, any form of style preference aside.

The notion that everybody who likes God Hand is some raging Clover fan is pretty dumb, too; Okami put me into a coma.
