Read it as two separate statements. Sorry, should have been more clear.

Looking at this game, I got very much of an Arkham Asylum vibe from it. Is anybody else concerned that beat/hack 'em ups are drifting towards autopilot? Mash buttons and out comes a combo that surprises the player just as much as the enemies, press the kill button and zoom in to watch a quick execution movie, spam the thumb stick and you end up facing what you need to be killing when you're in a mob... It has been feeling more like advancing the text in a 16 bit cut scene than playing a game. The game needs you to press a button for the action to continue, but what it continues into was written before you even started playing.

  3. This game has nothing in common with Arkham Asylum.

  4. In a move that makes me remember why blockbuster is going out of business, they're not carrying this game for rent.

    Fuck off.

  6. Sequel incoming.

There's going to be a sequel to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Spanish developer MercurySteam has apparently already begun work on it.

Oscar Araujo, composer of the game's soundtrack, jovially broke the news to Spanish radio. He said, "If you liked the first [game], hope that the second is even more spectacular," Eurogamer Spain reported.

It was common knowledge that Konami had developer MercurySteam at work on a new game, but until now only speculation pointed to a Castlevania sequel.

Araujo went on to say that Konami had asked for a "rough" and "aggressive" score to contrast with the series' "effeminate" old image.

Konami has offered Eurogamer "no comment" on the news.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was released here last week. The game managed high scores - 8/10 here on Eurogamer - and went on to place sixth in the UK all-formats chart.

Digital Foundry finally tore the two version apart.

  7. Just finished the fight against the head vampire (I dunno, maybe its not a spoiler, whatever.) The art in those levels is SO AWESOME and the more you upgrade your guy the more awesome the fighting gets. I love this game.

I just finished Chapter VII. I really like the variety of puzzles so far. Considering there is another difficulty (you pussies are playing on Knight, right?) plus all the hidden stuff and the trials, I could easily be playing this until Christmas with the other new releases mixed in.

I saw on the demo the hardest difficulty was locked, is it the same way in the full game?

Yes. That remains a pet peeve of mine despite the fact that my favorite games of this generation all do it.
