Thread: Ever been at Funcoland when a customer is selling back 100's of games?

  1. Ever been at Funcoland when a customer is selling back 100's of games?

Man, did I just get a great haul! This guy was in there selling litterally about 400 SNES and Genny games. I asked him if I could buy some right off of him before he sold them to Funco. The manager at the store was cool enough to even give us the prices of the games I wanted. So, I end up getting a bunch of games for the price Funco buys them for instead of the price Funco sells them for. For $35 I got:

    SNES
    • Joe and Mac 2 - $6.00
    • Super Bonk - $5.00
    • World Heros 2 - $2.00
    • Super Turrican - $3.00
    • Super Bomberman 2 - $6.00

    Genny
    • Revenge of Shinobi - $4.00
    • Shadow Dancer - $2.50
    • Shinobi III - $4.00
    • Dragon's Fury (Devil's Crush) - $4.00

I didn't think I'd ever even see a copy of Super Bonk. Anybody else ever luck out being in Funcoland at just the right time?

  2. This didn't happen to me at a videogame store, but that's how I aquired almost the entire Evangelion series for $40 a couple years ago. Walked into a store as a guy was trying to sell off the entire collection, the store didn't want it, so I offered the guy the cash I had on me and he accepted.

    Nice haul, btw!

further proof that some guys just have all the luck...

  4. Ever been at a Funco where some guy is selling bags and bags of DVDs, most of which aren't SKUed in the system, and some bitch behind the counter doesn't want to open the other register?

  5. Super Bomberman 2 is one of my favorite games EVAR. I remember when I was in either 8th or 9th grade, my birthday came around and I had 5 people stay over my house. We literally played Bomberman Battle Mode from like 11pm til 8am. Good Stuff!

  6. not Funcoland, but the best local video game store in my area...none the less...they wanted to give him 15 for Shining Force 3, I outbid and got it for $20.

  7. Good example of good timing:

I came into Funco Land a few hours after a local video store owner decided to unload all of his Saturn stuff (read: eighteen complete copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga, along with a Shining Force III, some Shining the Holy Arks, and several Magic Knight Rayearths and Burning Rangers).

  8. I've came into EB shortly after some kid traded in 2 garabage bags full of stuff around the launch of the DC. With his trade-ins he pre-ordered (in full) a DC, 2 controllers, 2 VMU's, a light gun and 4 games.

  9. I went to my local anime store when it began selling off its VHS tapes to make way for more DVDs. I lucked out and bought the entire Cowboy Bebop series, Heroic Legend of Arislan, and Legend of Crysania for around $70.

  10. Long story short, when I used to work at funco these people brought bags and bags of stuff, we couldn't take any of it, so I bought 200 or so NES games with a huge stack of instruction manuals, a Master System 2 with 15 games, A turbo graphx 16 and 4 games off of them for only $50.
