It's same as it ever was, except now monthly instead of weekly.

Protip: you don’t have to download the game to your hard drive (or memory card) to gain the entitlement — you can also go to the web store, add them to your cart and check out. Once the game says “Purchased” below it when you’re logged in, you’ll be set for the future as long as you’re a PS Plus member.

So, just a more regulated version of the slightly chaotic release schedule they had before. Once you "own" a game you have it for as long as the PS+ subscription runs, downloaded or not.

PS4 = rerun central. I was actually hoping for Knack.

Once a game is on your account, you can play and re-download it forever (as long as your account is active, and yes, if you let it lapse then re-activate it you get them all back). Having a big hard drive is still a good idea though, so you don't have to wait to download things you randomly get the urge to play.

I hope they're still going to have a selection of "big ticket" games that stay on the service for the whole year and get changed out at E3. Been waiting to pick up Last Of Us on the off chance that it's part of this year's set.
