DDR N00b

Well I have been playin some ddr ar my friends house at I like it so I wanna buy some DDR games for my DC (i dont have a psx). Anyhow I was wondering how much ddr games there are for dc import and non because I have no clue! Also, where can I get a good pad?

The only DC Mix is Club Mix 2...and thats terribly outdated and discontinued. You really only have 3 options-

1. Get a JPS2 and get Max, then wait for Max2. Or get a JPSX and import 2nd-5th Mix.

2. Download simulators like DWI or DelightDelight, then go through the hell of finding the files and the mp3s that match them.

3. Play in the arcades.

I suggest #3, because I hate all home versions.

errrr what is jps2??? also how much $$ would it cost to get a new ps or ps1?? If i can get a new ps cheap i think i'll buy one, is 2nd mix really sucks that bad...

Forget about playing DDR on the DC. Buy yourself a Japanese Playstation 2 and a Red Octane dance pad. From there you can either buy the PSX versions 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Extra, 5th, or OhaSta Also you can get MAX for the PS2. I recommend you buying 3rd, 5th, and MAX.

Prices-

Japanese Playstation 2 = $250
RedOctane pad = $60
3rd Mix import = $50
5th Mix import = $50
DDR MAX import = $60

Most of the money spent is for the pad and the system. But hey with the system you could play Beatmania and be cool like the rest of us

Slip- what's the unlock status of your MAX2? I played it up in Austin and they had about 24 songs or so unlocked. I love this mix Too bad Telephone Operator didn't make the cut from MAX Oh yeah, Oni mode kicks my ass. Hard.

Hmm, can i still buy a psx or is it psone only? as you can tell i know nothing about playstations! Also, is a ps easy to mod? or would I have to hire someone to mod it? If it would cost sooo much money i my aswell just buy 2nd mix, but if it isnt tooo much i will be willing to buy a ps...

Your hurting yourself by thinking too much. Buy a Japanese PS2; you don't need to get it modded; buy import DDR. The end.

Slip, yeah Austin has those songs unlocked. They don't need any damn unlock code anyway. I saw somebody almost beat From IIDX and Happy Hardcore. Some of those remixes are tightbangin

Um... keep in mind that this guy's very obviously a newbie at Dance Dance (and PSX in general), and doesn't want to spend billions (exaggeration) of dollars just so he can have a little fun with it; it's not exactly a religion to him. Hell, I like the game a lot, and I think buying a jPS2 is a bit excessive.

Here's what I have to say:

Buy a used PSX (or get one from a friend), so long as the damn thing works. That should be very cheap. If not, buy a PSone for like $40.00 or whatever they go for.

Buy DDR Konamix, it's great. Trust me, it'll MORE than tide you over until DDRMAX comes out for the PS2 around November.

Get a pad, preferably the official one from Konami. It comes packaged in with DDR USA, which isn't that great, and costs like $70.00. Maybe you can find it bundled in with Konamix on eBay or something.

thanks mzo, youv been of the most help Anywho I suppose I will get a used ps from a friend. He has a psx, a modded psx, and a psone so i bet he would gimme the psx for pretty cheap! I have 2 more questions if ya dont mind

1) I want to get this thing modded to play imports if im gonna buy it, are they easy to install (ive modded a dc, but thats pretty basic i suppose ) or would I have to hire someone?

2) Which ddr has the best workout session? I my as well burn calories while I'm playin a game!
