Thread: Zombieland

  1. I prefer straight out Zombie movies to these Zomedies. But, that having been said, yeah this movie is going to kick all sorts of ass. It's going to be a long wait.
Look out, man, Wooly's gone ape-shit.

  2. Zomedies? What other ones are there of note besides Shaun of the Dead?

And Return of the Living Dead. Which is AWESOME, THANK YOU

  3. FIDO

I consider Return of the Living Dead a hybrid. It's funny, but its a pretty good zombie movie too.

  4. I'm sort of through with the zombie thing as a whole. I've been hitting them pretty hard since like... 2001, and I haven't seen one that I really enjoyed since... the Dawn of the Dead remake maybe? I may be missing a recent one that isn't springing to mind.

  5. I don't think you are missing any. I feel the same way. I track down any ones I can find because I love the concept so much and 9 out of 10 of them are straight-to-video crap. Its easy to get disillusioned by it all.

I drove an hour to see Romero's Diary of the Dead in the theater and it was a big disappointment. I own it on DVD. I can watch it and get some enjoyment out of it. But I think in my eyes this genre has already hit the pinnacle with the original Romero trilogy. The Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead remakes were pretty good too, though.

Still, I'm definitely going to go see Zombieland on opening day. It seems like it'll be a sure thing.

  6. Land of the Dead wasn't bad at all.
I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.

  7. No. Apart from the zombies are learning stuff, I really enjoyed Land of the Dead.

  8. Land of the Dead was not a very good movie. Hell I liked Diary of the Dead more than Land of the Dead.

  9. No. Just... no.

Diary was one of the worst films I've seen. It even makes me cautious about Romero's new Dead flick that he's making.

  10. I mean, it wasn't particularly good but I didn't really find anything offensive about it. Just sort of eh.
