Thread: 2009 NFL Season Thread of WOO PLAYOFFS!

  1. LOL, where does his knee look down? Can you see his knee down and the ball at the same time? No. I can see an official five feet from the play though that signals turnover. I can see that the first frame you see with the ball after his knee was down that the ball is so far from his hand he couldn't have possibly come down with it. I can see that the runner didn't even argue the call.

"The Seahawks still had a chance to stop the Bears on 4th and goal and couldn't get it done."

This is a stupid argument. THEY DID STOP THEM. But the ref decided there was CONCLUSIVE VIDEO EVIDENCE that they didn't. Bullshit. Show me.

But whatever. I'm done with it. Can't change it now.

Even then, it's not like it was an automatic TD after that overturn. The Seahawks still had a chance to stop the Bears on 4th and goal and couldn't get it done.

Not to mention the wealth of opportunities they had in the second half to win the game after that.

Point is, you're going to get a few calls against your team over the course of any game; it's how you react to them that determines whether you're a winner or a loser -- not the calls themselves.

Losers cry about the bad calls after the game; winners put it behind them and do something about it while the game's still going on.
If the league thought this was true, they wouldn't have implemented replay. Replay is supposed to get the calls right, and there are absolutely calls that are nearly impossible to overcome.

Just because you root for these teams don't make you a winner.

Pittsburgh just lost to Cincinnati, and their only win is against an 0-3 team, and you're downplaying someone else's schedule?

Looking ahead, I see where your confidence comes from, as the Steelers play no one all year except Baltimore, just like three out of every four years. The only problem is that Baltimore's schedule is just as easy. It must be nice to play in the AFC, where having two decent teams makes a division "tough".

Hey, look. There is one of the nobody teams on Pittsburgh's schedule now. When you need that BS to beat the 49ers without Gore at home, you're not good.

  8. Favre will implode in November/December, it is pretty much a guarantee.

As long as AP can carry the team the majority of the time and the Vikings don't need to rely on Favre, he'll manage.

What does Romo have to do with anything? He's won as many Super Bowls as the Vikings' franchise.
