I am waiting for the extended versions to be on Bluray. Triple dipping FTL.

Word on the street is that Jackson is waiting for higher capacity BD's to be released. IE the 3 - 4 layer 75 - 100 gig discs. Supposedly he wants to release them on BD with the highest bit rate he can, but as it stands they extendeds would have to be spread across 2 BDs then and he doesn't want to do that.

Also if those dvds are the extendeds on 1 disc each they're going to be compressed to hell and motherfucking back. Fuck that noise.

No, but you have to flip the disc halfway through the movie. The disc uses a seamless branching technique where the scenes common to both versions are stored on the disc only once, and if you watch the extended version the disc branches out to the additional scenes. The disc flip breaks at the same point it does with the platinum extended edition.

Not too bad though. I should be able to get about $30 after fees on Amazon for the set I've already got so that's a profit and I'm saving space on the shelf.
