  1. Yes, and he's the 7th best QB in our league... 7th. Not 1st or 2nd or even 3rd. Which means he's at best a late second or third rounder.

    2. I have my reasons for wanting to trade Ricky Williams while he's peaking.
    3. I have my reasons for trading Austin, who may or may not be great. I don't need to wait around for him, b/c I've got Andre Johnson who will be a keeper for years to come.
    4. And I have been dying to get a franchise QB. Sure, ROFL's no Peyton (old) or Brady (also old), but he's younger than both and has a better track record (than Orton) in our massively overvalued QB league.
    5. I'm not sold on Orton, so, to my mind, ROFL's a decent upgrade for the rest of this season (and it's nice to finally have two LEGIT QB options every week b/c...again...they're the most important position in our little league). And, given the info I have TODAY, I'd be more likely to hold onto ROFL than Orton if the season ended today.
    6. I've got the #3 RB in the league, so losing Williams isn't a major killer for me (although, if this were NORMAL FF, I could see Yoshi's point; but in OUR league?).

    Throwing a Biff-like fit won't do me any good, and the dmg is already done but I would like to know what the rest of the league thinks.

    Did Yosh make the right call?

    Two B-grade players traded for an A- quarterback, basically.

    This comment makes no sense to me at all? Wait around for him? He's putting up 10-30 points a game right now, what would you be waiting around for? Him to start putting up 50+ a game?

  5. Here's what I mean: I've got an A+ WR. Austin ain't A+ (yet). You trade a B (B+?) WR for the A- QB (again, the overvalued position in our league).

    Austin could be the next Randy Moss...but so what? I've got the next Jerry Rice on my team for years (meaning I can't hang onto Austin after this season).

    Basically, I'm trading two guys I'd NEVER hold (given my team situation) for a QB I would.

    AND I improve (however slightly) my chances this year.

  6. Yes, but it wasn't just 1 B+ player for the A- QB, it was 2 B+ Players for 1 A- Player, that is what made it unbalanced IMO. (Although I would argue that if Austin does keep playing like he had since has since his breakout game he is definitely A+ and one of the most valuable WR in the league, and there's no reason to really think he's not going to. Man was I wrong about him before).

    Something like Jonathan Stewart and Roeth for Williams and Austin would be a much fairer trade in my eyes. Personally I would be ok with Yoshi doing a special extension for you guys and pushing through a balanced trade you work out even though the deadline has passed since your last one was vetoed and you didn't get the message.

    This took longer than I thought.

    1. The message is posted when the trade is vetoed. There is a canned message I can use or change/add to it. I chose the latter.

    2. Austin has been a starter for three weeks. Anything he did before that is completely irrelevant now. It's no different than Jamaal Charles' situation now. Even when you include the full season, though, Austin is the #12 WR in the league. In a 14 team league where 28+ WRs start, that means he is an automatic starter. That is not a B+ player by any stretch when you combine those things.

    3. Ricky Williams is unusual because of the true two-headed monster in Miami. He's arguably the back up but still gets starter-like touches and also is the #12 player at his position and an automatic starter in our 14 team, 28 RB starting league.

    4. Roethlisberger is the 7th ranked QB. We have 14 teams that start 1 QB each. That makes him right at the median. He is not Manning or Brees by any stretch. In terms of the median starters at his position, he is well lower than Austin (12/28+) and Williams (12/28). And Austin is way higher based on his current situation.

    5. Trades to bolster keepers at the expense of competitiveness during the current season cannot be allowed to go through. When Rich and I made our blockbuster, it was in the offseason. It didn't negatively impact people with a shot at the $250 during the season. This trade, in the context of the current season, makes Meach's team worse and makes Error's way, way better. It's a kin to collusion, except that Meach was looking at next season instead of just trying to help Error. Considering people have the option to pay for next year or not but have already paid for this season, I have to keep this season fair over anything that would affect next season at this point.

    6. There will be no extension. The deadline was posted in like July. Geo and Timber actually PM'ed me to specifically ask that I review their trade the night before, because Timber had waiver wire dependency. I honored their request, since they asked, just like I fixed Meach's (I think) lineup earlier this year when he was having access problems and asked.

    edit: I will, however, give Error Choice back and reset his waiver priority if he doesn't want Young anymore.

    edit2: One more quick point. If Roethlisberger were traded for Michael Turner and Randy Moss, would people think that is fair? Turner and Moss are a single spot higher than Williams and Austin, and Moss has obviously been a starter all year...

    2. ok. Do you happen to recall what your priority was? I could probably reconstruct it using the transaction list, but I'd prefer not to have to. I have already moved the players.'

    edit: Nevermind. You added Shockey first, so that makes the order easy to fix. You're all set. You're #12 in priority and have Choice but not Young now.
