  4. The categories aren't judged on whether the ideas are original, but more if it is directly base on a source material.

    That said, it shouldn't win because it's unoriginal as fuck and the characters are flat, and the message is BASE AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH EVERYONE

    Correct. Hence the seperate "original" and "adapted" screenplay categories, Advocate.

    If they gave awards for "unique" scripts flicks like District 9 would win.
